The Out-Laws (2023)

I feel like I've seen this before. I feel let down, I feel like I was promised a night of non stop love making, but was left with an over the pants handy.

Like, it wasn't horrible, there were moments of brilliance, but it felt like a wash rinse and repeat of so many other action comedies. If you've seen Meet the Parents, or You People, or We're The Millers, then you've seen this film. A comedy heist film/disapproving future father-in-law film like we've seen a dozen times before. That's not to say it's horrible, but there were a lot of opportunities for this film to knock it out of the park but it just fell flat.

I like leading man Adam Devine, but do I like him as a leading man? I'm not too sure. When he's in every scene I feel like it's a bit too much Devine and the chemistry between Devine and Brosnan was almost non existent. There were moments which were funny, but it felt like Devine was eagerly trying to bring everyone up to his comedic level and no one wanted to go with him, or had the ability to go with him.

But I think we've had enough of the disapproving father-in-law movies for now, we get it, your girlfriends dad doesn't like you because you're banging his daughter.
